about us label

STUDENTS

Current enrollment is approximately 380 students. In the last 10 years, we have graduated 647 students. Over 95% of each graduating class has enrolled in college. Our student body comes from Christian elementary school, public school, and home-school backgrounds. Admission requires that students have a 2.5 GPA (C+) and score in the upper 50th percentile on a nationally standardized test. Our students come from throughout central Indiana, and represent over 100 different churches. CCHS has also accepted students from Mexico, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Poland, Germany, Liberia, Haiti, Honduras, Taiwan, Korea, China and India.

ACCREDITATION

Covenant Christian High School is fully accredited by the Indiana State Board of Education as a Freeway School. The school also maintains full accreditation from The Association of Christian Schools International.

TESTING

Our students take the ISTEP+ graduation test in the sophomore year, the PSAT/NMSQT and SAT during their junior year, and seniors take the SAT and/or ACT.

STUDENT ACADEMIC LOAD

The high school has an eight-period day, and students generally take seven classes and a study hall. Covenant Christian High School provides a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum. We expect our students to spend an average of two hours on homework per night.

ADVANCED PLACEMENT CLASSES

CCHS currently offers Advanced Placement (AP) classes in U. S. History, Literature and Composition, Chemistry, Physics, Statistics, Music Theory, and Calculus. Nearly 50% of our students that have taken AP classes earned college credit based on their AP exam scores.

RANK/SCHOLARSHIPS/HONORS

CCHS does not release academic class rankings beyond the selection of salutatorian and valedictorian for each graduating class. Since 2002, Covenant Christian High School graduates have accepted over 8 million dollars in merit-based scholarships. CCHS has also had eight National Merit finalists in its ten graduating classes.

CCHS graduates have attended diverse colleges and universities, both out-of state (including the United States Naval Academy, Arizona State University, Asbury College, Boston University, Cedarville University, Cincinnati Bible College, Colorado Christian College, Fordham University, Gordon College, Johnson Bible College, Lee University, Lincoln Bible College, Middle Tennessee State University, Milligan College, University of Missouri-Rolla, New York University, Ohio State University, Olivet Nazarene University, Seattle Pacific College, Trinity International University, University of San Digo, Walla Walla College, Wheaton College and Wittenburg University) and within Indiana (including Anderson University, Ball State University, Butler University, DePauw University, ITT, Huntington College, Indiana University, Indiana State University, Indiana Wesleyan University, IUPUI, Manchester College, Purdue University, Rose Hulman Institute, Taylor University, Tri-State University, University of Indianapolis, University of Notre Dame, University of Southern Indiana, Valparaiso University, Vincennes University, and Wabash College).
